The Higher Education Summit featured lightning rounds as part of the concurrent sessions in the morning and afternoon of Monday, Nov. 26.
The lightning rounds were an opportunity to learn about best practices at some of Ontario's colleges. The lightning rounds covered a range of topics in 10-minute intervals.

The line-up for the lightning rounds included:
Fanshawe College described a student ambassador program implemented to orient students to their learning management system which is known as FanshaweOnline (FOL). All post-secondary courses and a majority of continuing education courses at the college have a presence on FanshaweOnline.
Humber College – The college explained its comprehensive education strategy to ensure all college community members have the proper skills and information to identify and/or address individuals exhibiting the signs and symptoms of a mental health problem.
St. Lawrence College - The college talked about its industry-partner engagement model with Habitat for Humanity.
Algonquin College and partner Vocantas talked about its Interactive Voice Response System, “Scaller,” which provides support to at-risk students and has improved retention.
Cambrian College – The college described its online ‘live’ tutoring program which allows students to virtually participate and talk with a tutor from the convenience of any location.
Centennial College – The college explained how its electronic student portfolio has been incorporated into the learning management system, enabling students to accumulate artifacts and show progress through their program.
Algonquin College – The college described its industry-partner engagement model, which provides access to cutting-edge technologies while reducing costs and providing monetary returns to its partners.
Northern College – The college talked about the innovative tools and delivery methods that are used to deliver the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities' Co-op Diploma Apprenticeship Program.
